203

Things have been quite busy lately which is why I haven’t had any time to add anything new to the site.  A lot of things are in the works, just not currently progressing very quickly.  The Sea Saw Sailors played a show in Denver last weekend and I’ll be working on a little video from that trip to put up on here sometime in the next week or so.  Also look out for some new covers.
Meanwhile, to keep it fresh, I went back into the vault and pulled out a few songs from the first full-length album that I ever recorded.  It was under the moniker “Bryan Rock” and the CD was called “Hmm… That’s Weird You’re Fat”.  I handed out about 20 copies of the album in high-school and the songs were recorded 1999-2004.  A different version of “Far Away” was played by the P. Lacquers and recorded on their first CD “Welcome To The World Of Music” (2004).
So press play, sit back, relax, and plug your ears

Seriously Funny

I’ve been engineering a 4-part comedy special for the radio station that I work at.  It’s called “Seriously Funny” and it’s written by tv/comedy playwright Ron Bloomberg. I’ve also created some original music for the series.  The first episode will initially air this Saturday Feb. 6th at 8:30 am (MT) on KSFR Santa Fe Public Radio .  There was an interview today on our morning show “The Santa Fe Radio Cafe” to help promote this new comedy special.  There were some nice words said about me and some of my music was featured at the end.  It was a very good interview.  Check it out!

The Santa Fe Radio Cafe - Seriously Funny Interview

And here’s the official write-up about the show:
SERIOUSLY FUNNY! - KSFR 101.1FM Public Radio is pleased to present an entertainment series created by Ron Bloomberg, premiering Saturday, Feb. 6th at 8:30am, rebroadcast on Wed., Feb. 10th at 6:30pm and Fri., Feb. 12th at 1:00pm.  SERIOUSLY FUNNY! the story of William T. Tuttle, a modern day Don Quixote driving a worn out Chevy Camaro.  Set in Santa Fe, we follow William in his travels where he will meet a myriad of colorful and interesting characters.

William is a prototype of so many of us living lives of not so quiet desperation in 2010.  He’s been in and out of jobs and relationships, but romantic sparks fly when he meets Blue Pearl - a waitress/performance artist with a rather dark past.

The various story lines come together at Gus’ piano bar where our regulars interact and where Blue Pearl sings a devastatingly witty Rogers and Hart song, “To Keep My Love Alive.”

The Cast features a number of Santa Fe’s finest actors:
Liam Lockhart, Genia Michaela, Alaina Zachary, Tom Romero, Robyn Reede, William Verderber, Tom Woodward, Ron Bloomberg. And as Gus the Piano Player . . . . . . David Geist Funny, musical, stylish . . . And a welcome addition to KSFR 101.1FM Public Radio!

Cheers!

Happy belated New Year to you all.  Here is my official cheers into the new year:

So many of you have probably heard the new phenomenon that is sweeping bars nation wide.  It’s called “SHOTS”.  Who Woulda thought?  If you haven’t heard it, I’ve included another youtube bootleg below.

As far as I can remember I’ve never heard songwriting as good as in this Hit.  It makes Yngwie look like a total asshole ifyaknowhatimsayin.  While learning the ins and outs of this composition I really got an exclusive look at how to make millions in the music industry.  Based on what I learned, Festive Occasion should have been making millions years ago.

Here’s my cover of the hit song “Shots” by LMFAO feat. Lil Jon using a melodica, drum set, tambourine, trumpet and keyboard

So during my senior year in college I recorded an album under the moniker Bryan Rock called “Crucial Bomb” (thanks to Grant for the titular assistance).  I think there might be 20 or so copies of it floating around somewhere… or in a landfill.  Either way there was a song on it called “I Guess Humans Move Too Slow”.  I re-recorded it and made it better.  Here is the brand new version.
