Here’s a video I put together of last weekend with Blacklight Soul. It features Chiddy Bang and Girl Talk. When you have 15 free minutes check it out. You know you waste way more time than that watching british babies get hurt on youtube. This video will actually make you smarter while keeping you entertained.
Also “From Wilderness Cove” is now available in the iTunes store and over at CDBaby. So you can get it there if you are into that whole MP3 cd stuff, or if you don’t want to get it directly from my site… which would be totally lame. You can also review it on those sites which would be great! And if you already have a physical copy, the song titles will now show up when you put it into your computer. TECHNOLOGY!
I’ve got a lot of pictures up at the Lumpy Recordings Facebook Group, so go over there and check them out. And if you have any pictures to add please do!
Last time I visited Minnesota I got copies of some random old videos from Walk’s porch. Here is an old video of The P. Lacquers song “Push It” from the album “Awkward Party”. The video was made in 2006 by Johnny, Graham, and Matty. If you’re interested in a copy of the CD contact lumpy@bryanhighhill.com for details
I’ll try and get some more videos up soon.

Here’s a music video for an abridged, acoustic, demo version of a song from a future release called “worn-down verbal storms”. To give you an idea of the sound, I also added a sound clip of the actual version without any vocals.
Lumpy - worn-down verbal storms

I’ve finally finished uploading The P. Lacquers New Years Eve performance from 2004/2005. The show took place at the Twin Cities Underground in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
It’s old and funny
Enjoy!
Below is the opening song “And Then She Came” from the 2004 release Welcome to the World of Music. To see the whole show go HERE: www.youtube.com/lumpyrecordings

Here are some older P. Lacquers videos for your viewing pleasure. The first few songs were filmed at the end of our Summer 2007 tour. I made a tour film around then that has barely seen the light of day and I hope to put up some footage from that in the future. In the meantime enjoy the clips.
“Chicago Blows” live at the 400 Bar. Minneapolis, MN. August 2007
“Captain Puddles” live at the 400 Bar. Minneapolis, MN. August 2007
“Walkaska” live at the 400 Bar. Minneapolis, MN. August 2007
and for good measure…
“Musical Madlibs” live at the Red Sea. Minneapolis, MN. New Years Eve 2007.

So the folks from Despite Everything were here over the past week. We played a show at acousticasa and an open mic at the santa fe brewing company. You can check some videos from those events at www.rideouttherecessiontour.com. we also began recording a new song which will hopefully be up this upcoming week.
I just got some more demos from Casey Jones. They are very good and they are added to the “Casey Jones Demos” on the downloads page, so check that out!
My friends Victoria and Monica over at www.fallopia.net have put my song “It’s Times Like These” up as a best of summer ‘o9 pick. It comes from their June 1st entry and this is what it says:
“#1. This may be the best summer ‘09 has given me so far. He calls it a demo, but I call it perfection. A brand new jaunt by a too-cool-for-school friend of mine, this is “It’s Times Like These” by Bryan Highhill.”
very nice words from them.
And finally, 2 weeks ago I was in California playing a few shows with The Blacklight Soul. Here is a video of us playing the song “Mailman” at the Lewis Hall Amphitheatre on the University of Redlands Campus. Enjoy!
