I recorded two new covers this weekend.  They are both of Millie Small songs.  Millie Small is a singer born in Jamaica in 1946.  If these songs were not written by Millie then I am having trouble finding out who wrote them. So if you know, please share.

The first song is called “Something’s Gotta Be Done”
original:
Millie Small - “Something’s Gotta Be Done”

cover:
Lumpy - “Something’s Gotta Be Done”

The second song is called “Chilly Kisses”
original:
Millie Small - “Chilly Kisses”

cover:
Lumpy - “Chilly Kisses”

Not sure if all the lyrics are exactly right but I did my best.

New Demo

okay I finished a new demo.  It may sound a bit sloppy, but that’s because I decided to add the electronics after recording the live instruments.  Either way it’s a demo and I think it sounds pretty cool.  and there’s no trumpet,  whoah, I know.  Those of you who have old Bryan Rock albums may recognize the music.

On another note, If you have, or know somebody who does have contact with radio stations, magazines, music reviewers, or anyone else that you think would be good to send a copy of the studio album to, please let me know! (or if you want a promotional copy and promise it will be potentially beneficial).  I’ve begun to compile a list of places to send it to and I could use your help.  ANY ideas please email to me at lumpy@bryanhighhill.com
Thanks I appreciate it!

Alright now here’s the song:

Lumpy - “My Own Terms”

so…

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

so between work, shows/performances, practice, beer brewing, cooking, and album making I haven’t had any time for much else.  Therefore I don’t have any new demos or music to share with you guys this week.  However the album is in the final stages, whatever that may mean, and Kabby and I are doing everything we can to finish it before October.  Exactly 1 year since the recording process was started.

Meanwhile, here is a picture for you all to contemplate.  It may be tricky at first but try and see if you can understand what is happening.  Hope to have some audio for the next update.
